STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WHTM) -
The popular student run area known as "Paternoville" has been changed to "Nittanyville," according to Penn State's website.
Student's camp in tents outside Beaver Stadium hours and even days before game time in order to secure the best seats for the game.
The Nittanyville Coordination committee said "as Coach Paterno was no longer the coach of Penn State's football team, the organization decided that since it was unlikely another coach would stay as long as Coach Paterno had, changing the name for each new coach would be impractical".
Paternoville started in 2005. The committee said the game day experience in Nittanyville will not change.
