EPHRATA, Pa. (WHTM) -
Officials are investigating the cause of a fire that injured a man in an Ephrata home early Friday.
Ephrata Fire Chief Allen Pettyjohn said flames were shooting from the windows of the home at 115 West Main Street when his crews arrived at 8 a.m.
Pettyjohn said some people were inside the home when the fire started, but everyone made it out safely. One man was taken to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
The fire was under control in less than an hour, but the flames were damaging.
"One-fifteen is pretty well gutted," Pettyjohn said. "There was fire on the downstairs floor back to the kitchen. Upstairs, you have heavy smoke and heat from up there."
