Do you believe in mediums?

CAMP HILL, Pa. (WHTM) -

With the popularity of the show "The Long Island Medium," more people are becoming intrigued with the afterlife. Can you really get messages from deceased loved ones?

Michele Livingston of Camp Hill said she started receiving signs more than 20 years ago.

"In the beginning, I felt like Whoopi Goldberg in that movie Ghost," Livingston said.

Livingston, who calls herself a psychic medium, recently had a session with five women she knew nothing about. She started by praying and getting into a "zone." Within minutes, she said she felt spirits in the room and what she told Deb Tocks of Hampden Township about her deceased sister moved her to tears.

"What Michele said was very emotional for me and very cathartic as well," Tocks said.

Livingston delivered healing words from Sue Stewart's grandmother about a rift the Lewisberry woman is having with her mother.

"She wants you to support your mother and get along with your mother," Livingston said.

"I find it interesting that my grandmother came through here to me to say you need to forgive her and move on," Stewart said.

Fact or fiction, how could Livingston know intimate details about people she doesn't know?

"I want to bring them comfort and hope and let them know that love never dies and that their loved ones are in a far better place," she said.

Livingston knows she has critics and skeptics but says she isn't phased by them.
