WEST FAIRVIEW, Pa. (WHTM) -

East Pennsboro Township Police have arrested the operator and an employee of OM Petro Mart convenience store in West Fairview for selling synthetic marijuana in the store, and processing fraudulent welfare transactions.

Police say about 70 packages of synthetic marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and illegal prescription pills were seized from the store and a private residence after police executed a search warrant on Thursday.

According to police, undercover officers made several controlled purchases of synthetic marijuana from Om Petro Mart between June 14th and August 1st. They also say a federal undercover welfare card account was used to make illegal transactions. They say during these transactions the store operator, Minto C. Kar, would complete a transaction with an Access Card, but exchange cash instead of food. Kar would also keep a portion of the cash for himself, according to police.

Police have charged Kar with several crimes, including criminal conspiracy to distribute designer drugs, access device fraud and theft by deception. They have also charged deli clerk Ralph Sanchez Jr. with criminal conspiracy at access device fraud, sale of designer drugs, and criminal conspiracy at theft by deception, as well as other crimes.

Both men are being held in Cumberland County Prison, Kar on $1 million bail and Sanchez on $250,000 bail.
