Brian Ritz
MANCHESTER, Pa. (WHTM) -
A standoff ended peacefully on Monday afternoon on the 5000 block of Susquehanna Trail in Conewago Township, according to Northern York County Regional police.
Police said Brian Ritz, 42, barricaded himself inside his home with his 2-year-old child.
Officers met with a woman who reported that she was moving out of the home and during that time began to have a domestic argument with her baby's father Brian Ritz.
During the argument Ritz threatened to shoot the woman in the head. He then went inside his home and closed the doors. The woman reported that Ritz had a shotgun in the residence.
Officers set up a perimeter around the home and attempted to make contact with Ritz. Officers attempted to make contact with Ritz by phone and loudspeaker for nearly an hour. Officers were finally able to contact Ritz by phone. Ritz then surrendered without incident.
Ritz was charged with terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.
