HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A suburban Harrisburg man was jailed for attempted homicide and aggravated assault after he attacked another man with a samurai-style sword, according to police.

Lower Paxton Township police said 31-year-old Edward Albert Peters attacked the man in the driveway of his Lafayette Street apartment building Wednesday night.

The victim, a 21-year-old New Cumberland man, was treated at a hospital for several stab wounds to the hands, arm, back and chest.

He told investigators he was waiting for his girlfriend to get some of her belongings from Peters' apartment when Peters, the woman's ex-boyfriend, attacked him through an open car window, police said.

Peters was arrested at his home Thursday morning without incident. He was being held at Dauphin County Prison on $500,000 bail.

The victim was treated for his wounds and was released.
