Site of former Masland plant rezoned by Carlisle council

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Cumberland County company is one step closer to redeveloping a site that burned down nearly three months ago and has been an eyesore ever since.

Thursday night, Carlisle Borough Council rezoned several industrial properties including the old Masland plant.

Carlisle Events owns the property and plans to transform it into a hotel and restaurants.

Back in May, a massive fire destroyed two buildings and damaged several others on the property.
