Friend: Kortne Stouffer was 'upset' the night she disappeared

PALMYRA, Pa. (WHTM) -

The last time Jessica Leaton saw Kortne Stouffer, she said Stouffer looked upset.

"I was sitting in a pizza shop and I saw her storm by and she looked angry," said Leaton, who had been at the Tom Sawyer Diner in Harrisburg with Stouffer earlier that night.

Stouffer has been missing for over two weeks and was last seen at her Palmyra apartment during the early hours of July 29. Police are investigating her disappearance as a kidnapping.

Leaton told abc27 News that, according to friends, Stouffer was in some sort of confrontation with a woman at the Hardware Bar in Harrisburg. Leaton said she had been with Stouffer earlier in the evening.

"I was very surprised to see her, I didn't know she was coming out. I just hung out with them for a little bit and she was just saying she wanted to have a good time and everything and that was about it and we just danced and everything," she said.

Stouffer's parents say police investigated two disturbance calls just hours before Stouffer went missing. They say a friend stayed at the apartment after Stouffer and others returned from a night of dancing in Harrisburg.

Police had initially reported that the last person to see Stouffer was a neighbor, but her parents said she and a male friend came back to the apartment shortly after 3:00 a.m.

Stouffer's father said he spoke with the male friend who claims he and Stouffer went to sleep and he awoke in the morning to find Stouffer gone; leaving behind her car keys, cell phone, and her shoes.

Her parents said they know the friend well and are on good terms. Their daughter has known the man for about two years and her mother and father are aware of no problems between the two.

The Stouffers are offering a reward that is now more than $25,000. Anyone with information is asked to call Palmyra police at 838-8188.
