Chambersburg man arrested for home burglaries

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Chambersburg man has been arrested for a series of home burglaries in the borough since mid-July.

Eric M. Bailey, 22, is accused of breaking into five homes during the day by forcing open locked doors. One inside, he stole jewelry such as rings, necklaces and watches, according to police.

Authorities said Bailey planned to sell the stolen property in order to support his addiction to prescription drugs.

He was not familiar with any of the victims and randomly selecting his targets, police said.

Bailey was taken into custody and charged with five felony counts of burglary.

Police said their investigation continues with additional arrests are anticipated.
