MOUNT WOLF, Pa. (WHTM) -
A tractor-trailer heading into the borough of Mount Wolf crossed a set of railroad tracks into the path of an oncoming train Monday.
The crash occurred at the
Georgia-Pacific plant near Maple and Walnut streets around 1 p.m.
The semi was pushed about 200 feet before the train came to a stop.
The truck driver had a few scrapes to his face, but was not seriously injured and refused medical treatment.
Northeastern Regional police said the driver told them he
stopped at a stop sign before crossing the tracks and looked both ways, but did not see the train.
As the tractor-trailer crossed the tracks, the driver told authorities that he heard the train horn and
then felt the impact, police said.
The crew of the train was not injured.
