Timothy Margeson
Steven Williford
CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -
The son of Carlisle's police chief is headed to trial on charges he stole a loaded service weapon from his father's department-assigned SUV.
Timothy Margeson waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday.
The 23-year-old son of Police Chief Stephen Margeson is accused of taking the .40-caliber handgun from his father's unmarked SUV last week while the vehicle was parked in front of the chief's home and was apparently locked.
Police said he previously stole a privately-registered gun from his father's vehicle. According to police, he was able to get into the SUV using a key fob he stole from his father.
Another man, 19-year-old Steven Williford, faces charges he gave the younger Margeson heroin in exchange for the guns. Neither weapon has been recovered.
