LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police said they seized 20 marijuana plants with an approximate street value of $15,000 from a Lancaster County cornfield Thursday.

Manor Township police said they were aware of the plants since last week and were hoping to catch someone tending to them, but that did not work out.

The decision was eventually made to pull the plants, which ranged in size from three to five feet.

After seizing the plants, officers went to another unrelated location nearby and seized five more plants, police said. That seizure is still being investigated.

Authorities said that with a large portion of Manor Township being rural farming, they have no doubt that there are more marijuana plots in the township.

Corn fields are often used by marijuana growers to hide the plants.
