HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
The entire Labor and Industry Building in Harrisburg will be sprayed for insects because of workers' complaints about fleas.
Department of General Services spokesman Troy Thompson said all 17 floors and the basement of the building at 651 Boas Street will be sprayed Friday evening.
Thompson said there is no known infestation, but he said the state wants to make sure its employees have peace of mind.
The building will be closed during the spraying.
Thompson said earlier this week that officials had received a complaint about three weeks ago from a worker on the eighth floor. He said a pest control company "spot treated" the problem area and found no infestation.
abc27 News received a tip this week that the fleas had returned.
Mary Schwanger, director of AFSCME District Council 90, has said the state worker's union heard another complaint from a worker on the seventh floor.
She said the union filed a building-wide grievance asking the state to treat more than just one floor.
