Kortne Stouffer
FREDERICKSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
A Lebanon County community came together Monday evening to pray for Kortne Stouffer, the 21-year-old Palmyra woman who went missing six weeks ago.
More than 100 people showed up to sing, pray and support Stouffer's family, who still have no answers about what happened to their daughter.
Stouffer was last seen by police in the early morning hours of July 29 after they were called to her apartment twice for noise complaints. The first time officers responded, they found Stouffer arguing with a neighbor and ordered both to return to their homes. Police were called back about 45 minutes later after "stomping sounds" were reported coming from Stouffer's apartment, but neither she nor the neighbor answered their doors.
Stouffer's father Scott told abc27 he last met with detectives on Tuesday, but they have no major leads at this time. He said they family has stopped daily searches of local waterways and wooded areas because of employment obligations.
"I went back to the office to get my mind focused on taking care of the family," Scott Stouffer said. "Still at the same time, splitting my mind in half thinking about Kortne and thinking about everything we can do."
Police have interviewed several friends who were out with Stouffer the night before she vanished. They have also interviewed the neighbor she argued with, but have not commented on any possible suspects in her disappearance.
According to a search warrant obtained last month by abc27, authorities are treating this case as a possible kidnapping.
A reward fund for information leading to Kortne Stouffer is now almost $42,000. Tips can be emailed to kortneinfo@gmail.com.
