HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
A Harrisburg woman who was struck by a vehicle Monday night in Swatara Township has died from her injuries.
Township police identified the woman as 58-year-old Ruth Bender, of the 1000 block of Highspire Road.
Bender was walking across the 900 block of Eisenhower Boulevard, just north of the Highland Street intersection, when she was struck by a northbound Mercedes at around 8:15 p.m., police said.
She was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment, but police said they learned this morning that she did not survive her injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes is a 50-year-old local man who is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
