MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Mechanicsburg woman was arrested for retail theft after she left a Cumberland County food store with over $300 worth of unpaid groceries, police said.

Esther Brubaker, 34, placed the items inside reusable bags and then parked a full cart of groceries near an exit of the Giant at 6560 Carlisle Pike, according to Silver Spring Township police.

Brubaker then went to the register and paid for one item, returned to the shopping cart, and left the store without paying for the other merchandise, police said.

The total amount of groceries taken without payment was valued at $335, police said.
