DOVER, Pa. (WHTM) -

A York County resident walking a roadway near his home found a strange package that turned out to be filled with heroin, according to police.

The package was discovered Tuesday in the first block of Dietz Estates Drive in Conewago Township. It was wrapped in duct tape and one end had been torn open by what appeared to be an animal, according to Northern York County Regional police.

The package was found to contain 650 individual packets of powder heroin, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 717-292-3647.
