Stewart Lazarus
MILLERSVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) -
A former soccer coach is accused of burglarizing multiple homes in the Millersville area.
Stewart Michael Lazarus was seen burglarizing a home in the 200 block of Herr Avenue Sunday night, according to borough police.
Lazarus, 49, ran from officers but was found a short time later in his home just blocks away, police said. He was arrested and charged with eight counts of burglary and one count of escape.
Authorities said they searched his home in the 400 block of North Prince Street Monday night and recovered more evidence. Officials told abc27 News that more charges are forthcoming.
Authorities also said Lazarus was a former athletics coach. abc27 found a Penn Manor High School yearbook from the late 90's in which Lazarus is listed as coach of boys and girls varsity soccer teams.
We also found him listed as an assistant coach for a team in the Lancaster County Soccer League as late as 2006.
Court records indicated Lazarus was also charged with DUI back in the early 90's and disorderly conduct back in 2009.
He was being held in Lancaster County Prison on $500,000 bail.
