East Pennsboro crash kills 1, injures 2

ENOLA, Pa. (WHTM) -

A 21-year-old woman passed away after the pickup truck she was riding in hit a Ford Explorer in East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County around 5 p.m. Sunday. 

According to East Pennsboro police, Jennifer Helman, of Enola, was ejected from the vehicle after it rolled over. She was  flown to Penn State Hershey Medical Center and pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police say the pickup she was riding in hit the Explorer as they were both traveling westbound on Valley Road near the intersection Pine Hill Road. The Explorer had just turned onto Valley Hill Road. 

The crash is still under investigation but speed is believed to be a factor. The driver of the pickup, Joshua Ozio, 20, of Enola was also flown to the hospital. He has been treated and released.

The driver of the Explorer, Thomas Blaine, 74, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Valley Road was closed Sunday evening as police investigated the crash.
