Local woman with cancer has dream come true

CAMP HILL, Pa. (WHTM) -

At the Cornerstone Coffee House in Camp Hill sit three friends who share one love.

"Our friendship surrounds ballroom dancing, said Joann Tresco, Dancing that requires a lot of energy".

To look at JoAnn Tresco, Klaudia Chilcoat and Kelly Rogers you would not think one of them is fighting for her life.

"I have stage-four breast cancer. It has spread to my liver so it is terminal, said Kelly Rogers. It's something that you can live with for years though once they get it under control. They come out with new medicine every week so I'm on my third different kind of chemo right now".

When her friends heard the diagnosis. I couldn't imagine losing a friend eventually so I wanted to do something special for Kelly, said Klaudia.

Klaudia and JoAnn know Kelly loves abc's dancing with the stars.

"In conversation with her we learned that she really wanted to dance with Derek Hough. "So after we dried our tears, we went online and located a reference to someone who was important to Derek and we emailed her and we told Kelly's story" said JoAnn.

Within 24 hours came a response from Derek's publicist, tickets to the *live* premiere and she offered Kelly an opportunity to meet and to dance with Derek Hough.

It's awesome. It's totally, totally, totally awesome and I cannot wait. And I've been practicing my tango because that's the dance that I chose to do with Derek, said Kelly.

This is Kelly's first trip California. Joann and Klaudia are going along and picking up the tab with some help from the Pennsylvania Dancesport Community.

It's wonderful, you know. It's nice to know there are people like that and all you have to do is ask, said Klaudia.

And now a dream has come true for a woman who lives each day to the fullest.

Find something that makes you happy and do it. I've kind of made a bucket list of things I want to do", said Kelly.
