Elizabethtown teen killed in Kansas bicycle accident

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -

A 19-year-old Elizabethtown man was killed in a bicycle accident in Kansas Sunday, police have confirmed.

Paul Ziegler, 19, was killed around 12:45 p.m. in McPherson County, Kansas. Ziegler was in Kansas to attend McPherson College.

McPherson County Police Captain Joe Hoffman said Ziegler was hit by 17-year-old Ethan Fowler. Fowler had dropped a pocketknife in the passenger seat and was reaching to get it when he crossed the center line and struck Ziegler's bicycle.

Ziegler died at the scene. Charges are pending.
