A New York man has been sentence to nearly 14 years in jail for holding up and robbing a Hanover Township bank in 2010.

Russell pleaded guilty to charges that he used a firearm to control the lobby of an M&T Bank while his partners, Kareem Shabazz and Shaelyn Joy Davis, jumped over the teller counter and stole $17,808.32 from the drawers.

The U.S. attorney's office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania said Russell and his accomplices used a pistols and a sawed-off shotgun to hold up the bank. They closed the blinds so no person could see in and ordered the employees and a bank customer to get on the ground.

U.S. District Court Judge James M. Munley had previously sentenced Shabazz to life in prison and Davis to 90 months. Joseph Swerdon, who drove the trio to the bank, was sentenced to 94 months.
