Officials: 2 teens injured in playground fire, ruled arson

MOUNT JOY, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are investigating an arson that injured two people and nearly destroyed a playground.

Investigators were called to Kid's Joyland in Mount Joy on Friday night at around 10, after someone heard an explosion and saw flames coming from the playground.

Crews were able to put the fire out, but the wooden structure has extensive damage.

Moments later police were called to the area of Detwiler Avenue and North Market Street and found a 17 and 18-year-old male with burns.

They were taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries are unknown.

Fire crews are still investigating the incident.
