Police arrest Lancaster man wanted for stabbing of ex-girlfriend

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police have arrested a Lancaster man wanted for stabbing his ex-girlfriend.

Manuel L. Torres, 33, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon at a home in the first block of Green Street and was awaiting arraignment on a charge of attempted homicide, according to Lancaster city police.

Torres confronted the 42-year-old woman Monday night at a home at 743 Beaver Street, attacked her, and stabbed her several times in the back and chest, police said.

The woman was taken to a hospital and underwent surgery for her injuries. She was listed in serious condition Tuesday morning. Police did not release her name.
