Plane with smoke in cockpit lands at Capital City Airport

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. (WHTM) -

A small airplane safely landed at Capital City Airport this morning after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit.

Airport spokesman Scott Miller said the pilot of the private plane made the emergency landing as a precaution.

The pilot and his passenger were not injured.

The airport was closed for about ten minutes before the plane was towed from the runway.

Miller said such incidents are quite common.
