The state attorney general's office has charged a Lancaster County pharmacist with stealing more than $20,000 in prescription drugs, along with thousands more in cash and store merchandise.
Phillip A. Henkel, 60, of Millersville, is accused of diverting more than 37,000 prescription drug tablets from the Weis Market pharmacy at 2600

Kelly said the alleged theft primarily
involved the powerful pain medication hydrocodone, but also included
numerous other prescription drugs.
Henkel is also accused of giving about $3,000 worth of prescription drugs to customers and friends at no charge or at a reduced price, stealing about 3,000 in cash co-payments from the pharmacy, and taking $1,600 in groceries and other items from the store, Kelly said.
He was charged with one count of theft by unlawful taking, a third-degree felony punishable by up to seven years in prison and a $15,000 fine, and two felony counts involving prescription drugs before his release on $75,000 unsecured bail.
