Bars sold at Giant part of nationwide peanut recall

Posted: Updated:

The list of peanut products involved in that nationwide salmonella outbreak continues to grow. The latest recall in our area is from Giant.

The company is recalling four types of thinkThin Crunch bars. The affected flavors are of the mixed nuts variety and include mixed nuts dipped in chocolate, white chocolate, and caramel chocolate.

The bars were sold in 1.41 ounce boxes and have varying use by dates between June and July of 2013. They also have different UPC numbers.

The recall comes after a nationwide salmonella outbreak in peanut products. Raw and roasted peanuts have been added to the list. The Centers for Disease Control said the contamination has been traced to a factory in New Mexico, Sunland, Inc..
