Officers found a West Lampeter Township man dead in a sinkhole on his property at Conestoga Avenue and Cliff Avenue around 6 p.m. Friday night, according to police.
The 59-year-old man was found inside a sinkhole about the size of a manhole, police say.
The hole opened up on his property a while ago, according to police. Investigators believe the man went down in the hole Friday afternoon to investigate what was needed to fill it up.
Officers say the man was disabled and could not get out of the hole. It is unclear how he died.
Police have not been able to reach the victim's family, so his name has not been released.
