John Walker
MONTROSE, Pa. (WHTM) -
A man who has worked as a police officer in several Pennsylvania communities has been arrested and charged in a 30-year-old murder case in Susquehanna County.
John David Walker, 52, of Montrose, is being held without bail for the November 1983 murder of his wife Lynda, according to Attorney General Linda Kelly.
Walker had reported that he came home to find his wife dead in his bed with his gun next to her. Her death was initially ruled a suicide, but Lynda Walker's body was exhumed in June 2011 and a second autopsy indicated the gunshot wound to her chest was not self-inflicted, Kelly said.
John Walker in November 1983 was a police officer in Great Bend, Pennsylvania. In the years since, he has been a police officer in several other Pennsylvania communities and was most recently a part-time police officer in Silver Lake Township and Montrose Borough, Kelly said.
