Former midstate resident unable to return to New York City

HANOVER, Pa. (WHTM) -

A former midstate resident who now lives and works in New York City has basically been stranded after visiting York County.

Jossie Carbonare left her Manhattan apartment to visit her boyfriend in Hanover last Thursday. By that weekend, she realized the storm was going to be pretty bad. She tried to get a return train through Amtrak over the weekend, but was told they were all cancelled.

"I've been communicating back and forth with my boss," Carbonare told abc27 Friday night. "She's been great. She's stuck also because she commutes from Jersey."

Jossie works for "W" Magazine.

She's been on the phone with Amtrak every day ordering a train ticket, then getting a return call from Amtrak later telling her that her train was cancelled.

She was hoping to leave Sunday.

"I'm a little bit anxious to see what everything looks like when I get back," she said.
