Perry County commissioners have confirmed that an electronic voting machine in Millerstown improperly indicated a vote for Mitt Romney when Barack Obama was selected, but said the vote was canceled before it was recorded.
A video posted on YouTube this morning showed that a checkmark would appear next to Romney's name when the voter selected Obama.
Commissioners said that when the county was made aware of the problem, the voter registration office immediately discontinued use of the machine until it could recalibrated. The voter used another machine without any reported problem.
After recalibration, the machine was tested, determined to be working properly, and was placed back into service, commissioners said.
The Perry County Bureau of Elections was not aware of any votes that were improperly cast and counted, commissioners said.
