A 15-year-old Harrisburg boy told police he was beaten and robbed Tuesday afternoon on his way home from Bishop McDevitt High School.
The teen reported that three young men confronted him in the 2200 block of Chestnut Street and asked to use his cell phone. When he denied the request, he was punched on the head and knocked to the pavement, according to city police.
The three robbers then repeatedly punched and kicked the victim while tearing at his pockets before taking his cell phone and fleeing, police said.
The victim suffered numerous bruises and scrapes on his face and head.
The robbers were described as three young black males, each wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, police said.
