EAST PETERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
Three children were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries Thursday after an SUV crashed into a Lancaster County day care center.
Police said 77-year-old William Landis crashed into the Wee Care Day Care, at 5984 Main Street in East Petersburg, apparently after he accidentally hit the accelerator pedal on the Ford Escape after a stop at a nearby Fulton Bank branch.
Landis was also sent to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
About 60 children were inside the day care center, and about 12 were inside the where the Escape smashed through a wall, according to police.
The children were moved to the bank so they could be picked up by parents or other caretakers.
