The City of Harrisburg is asking civic-minded residents to apply for the City Council seat that will be left vacant by Patty Kim.
Kim was elected to represent the 103rd district in the state House of Representatives, and her Council seat will officially become vacant on November 28.
The application asks 13 questions and is due in the city clerks's office by the close of business on November 16.
Retired police lieutenant Ellis Roy submitted his application this week. He wants the opportunity to work with Council and Mayor Linda Thompson. Roy says listening and finding common ground will help get things done in the city.
Council will interview candidates and choose Kim's replacement. City officials expect to have the new council member in place by January 1.
