HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
Thousands of runners took to the streets Sunday for the 40th annual Harrisburg Marathon.
The race started just after 8:00 a.m. on the Market Street Bridge, down Riverfront Park and around Wildwood Lake.
YMCA officials said 2,200 runners participated, making it a record turnout for the race.
Roughly 1,000 of the runners came here to run after the New York City Marathon was canceled last week in aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.
