Police are looking for witnesses to a single-vehicle crash that closed North Front Street at Interstate 81 near Harrisburg early Sunday.
Dustin Sawyer, 29, of Enola, was thrown from a 1997 GMC SUV that rolled several times and landed in the grass median at the I-81 interchange after he left the roadway, traveled over a traffic island, and struck a road sign at around 4:25 a.m., according to Susquehanna Township police.
Sawyer has been traveling north on North Front Street and lost control in a slight curve in the roadway, police said. He was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center and was listed in critical condition with severe injuries.
The roadway was closed in both directions for several hours as police investigated the crash.
