Posted: Updated:
YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police in York County got an early wake up call when they reported to the scene of a standoff in Springettsbury Township.

Several streets were closed and three or four homes were evacuated as police negotiated with a man they said was dealing with mental health issues.

The incident began shortly before 9 a.m. in the 1700 block of San Gabriel Drive and ended peacefully before 10:30 a.m.

Police said family members alerted them to a family ordeal that left the person involved in the standoff very upset.

Authorities said at no time did the man threaten police, but they were aware that he had a collection of knives and guns locked up in a safe.
