Lancaster police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old city man in the 500 block of South Lime Street.
Officers who responded to the incident late Wednesday afternoon said they found the victim in the backyard of a home. He was later identified by police as Dennis McFadden Jr., a resident of the 1500 block Passey Lane.
McFadden had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Final results and conclusions of an autopsy Thursday morning were not immediately available.
Investigators said several witnesses were brought in for questioning and officers conducted a neighborhood canvas, but they have not named any suspects.
Authorities are looking for additional witnesses and ask anyone with information to call Lancaster City Police at 735-3300. Callers do not have to give their names to provide information.
