Police investigating charity concert that was never held

Posted: Updated:
ENOLA, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police in Cumberland County are investigating an apparent fraud scheme where people were asked to donate money for a charity concert that was never held.

East Pennsboro Township police said people and businesses in Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry counties may have been solicited and may have donated to the outdoor concert.

The concert supposedly was for Haiti relief and the survivor of a fatal fire, and was supposed to be held Saturday, November 10 in Wormleysburg Park, but the concert did not take place and no concert was scheduled through Wormleysburg Borough, police said.

Anyone who was solicited or who donated to the event is asked to call East Pennsboro Township police at (717) 732-3633.
