Today is Children's Grief Awareness Day, a day set aside to draw attention to children who are struggling with a death. In honor of this day, everyone is asked to wear blue to show support for these children. I asked the abc27 news team to also wear blue, and I am happy and proud to say everyone did!
For the past nine years, I have been a proud part of the Caring Team at the Caring Place. The Caring Place in Lemoyne offers free services to children and their families who are grieving the loss of a parent or a loved one. Volunteers work with the children to help mend their broken hearts. The children also make quilt squares to remember their loved ones. These quilts hang on the walls at the Caring Place as a lasting tribute.
Please join me in supporting this wonderful cause and wear blue. It's a simple gesture that means a lot to a child with a broken heart.
