Child injured in pedestrian accident in Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A student heading for his school bus was hit by a car Friday morning in Shippensburg.

Police said the 10-year-old boy was crossing Burd Street near the intersection of North Fayette Street when he was struck at around 8:30 a.m.

He was flown to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment of injuries that included a broken leg.

Police said it was an accident and they do not plan to charge the driver.
