In wake of Sandy, several Midstate Sheetz stations out of regular gas

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

Several Sheetz stations in Dauphin, Cumberland and Franklin counties are reporting shortages of regular gas this weekend.

A company spokesperson told abc27 Saturday evening that the stations ran out as a result of a trickle-down effect from New York and New Jersey. She said oil refineries that closed along the East Coast in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy have now re-opened, but now supply cannot keep up with demand.

There is no timeline on when the stations will get more regular gas, but there are no shortages of mid-grade or premium at this time, she said.

According to abc27 viewers, shortages have already occurred at Sheetz stations in Halifax, Lower Paxton Township, Carlisle, Newville, Mount Holly Springs, Shippensburg and Greencastle.
