Two Harrisburg men were hospitalized for non-life threatening wounds they received during two separate shooting incidents over the weekend.
A 22-year-old victim told officers he was shot in the thigh early Sunday when he tried to intervene in an argument between two men and woman at North 17th and State streets, according to police.
Police have made no arrests. They said they spoke to several people in the area and found a loaded handgun near the group, but no one knew anything about the shooting or the gun.
In the second incident Sunday night, a 36-year-old victim said he was approached in the area of North 16th and Regina streets by two men who asked for marijuana. He told investigators he ignored the men and walked away, but was shot once in the back and once in the arm, police said.
The two men, who possibly have Jamaican accents, got into a blue car driven by a woman and fled, police said.
A police news release did not identify the victims.
Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call Harrisburg police at 717-255-3156.
