LEWISTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Juniata County man has been charged in a string of bank robberies in Juniata and Snyder counties.

State police in Lewistown said they charged 38-year-old Richard Lloyd Lockett, of McAlisterville, with three counts of robbery and one count each of attempted robbery, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property.

The charges stem incidents at the First National Bank in Thompsontown, the Juniata Valley Bank in Port Royal, the Mifflin County Savings Bank in McClure, and the Swineford National Bank in Beaver Springs in October and November, police said.

Lockett was being held in the Mifflin County Prison on $300,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for November 28.
