CAMP HILL, Pa. (WHTM) -

The Camp Hill icon Kathie's Christmas has been sold to Christmas Tree Hill of York.

In mid-October, the 32-year-old Cumberland County store announced that it planned to close its doors for good upon the retirement of owner Kathie Hughes. A couple of days later, they began a liquidation sale, with Hughes saying she had no plans to sell the business but was considering it.

Kathie's Christmas will continue their liquidation sale until December 29. The new Christmas Tree Hill store will not carry the same artwork and Christmas decorations as Kathie's Christmas but will continue to carry the same types of items.

The new store will open sometime in January 2013. Christmas Tree Hill will continue to operate the store's website under the Kathie's Christmas name.
