A little sun late in the afternoon Sunday wrapped up a late November weekend on a pleasant note. Winds have died down considerably, but light winds will continue through the overnight. Expect mostly clear skies early, with a few extra clouds developing toward the early morning hours.
Monday we'll see clouds on the increase, especially later in the day as a storm system develops across the Tennessee Valley. An area of low pressure will ride along a frontal system through the Mid Atlantic states arriving in Virginia by Tuesday morning. Some light rain and snowfall will develop along with this system, and with our region being on the northern side of the coin, we are likely in for some morning snowfall Tuesday. Moisture is limited with this low pressure system, but we may see light snowfall right around the morning rush hour Tuesday, before tapering to just some light rain showers later in the afternoon. Snowfall accumulations would be minimal: likely between just a coating, to as much as 2". Some of that snow will even melt into the afternoon hours after the system moves quickly out to sea.
By Wednesday & Thursday, temperatures will hover the in the lower 40s, with a slight warm up by next weekend...taking our temperatures back to seasonal levels.
