Police: woman, 18, tried to kill a man by pulling out chest catheter
An 18-year-old Harrisburg resident has been charged with attempted homicide after she partially tore out the catheter in a man's chest while screaming that she was going to kill him, police said Monday.
Arica Broadus is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and terrorist threats.
The victim, her 28-year-old boyfriend, said he and Broadus had been arguing at her apartment Sunday afternoon when he decided to go to the store at Derry and
Mulberry Sts. He said Broadus followed him and accused him of cheating and
going to the store to meet girls.
After that, she attacked and threatened to
kill him, grabbing the catheter in chest and trying to pull it out while screaming that she was
going to kill him.
Police say the victim held on to the catheter but fell faint as it was
partially torn out.
Broadus ran off when a woman yelled to her to leave
the man alone. She later surrendered and contacted police. She is now in Dauphin County Prison in lieu of bail.
