Child grabbed while walking to school in Lancaster City
LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -
A 13-year-old girl was grabbed by a man she didn't know on her way to school in Lancaster City Monday morning.
Lancaster City Police said someone nearby intervened and pushed the man away from the girl, who was walking on the 100 block of Nevin Street around 8:15 a.m.
The student, who was uninjured, then ran to Reynolds Middle School and reported the incident. Police say they do not have enough information at this time to characterize the incident as an attempted abduction.
Reynolds Middle School Resource Officer Dorsey Sumrall and detectives with the Special Investigations Unit are looking for more information about the incident and want to speak with anyone who may have witnessed it. They also want to speak with the Good Samaritan who intervened.
A description of the perpetrator is not available at this time.
