GPS leads police to stolen computer

A GPS tracking app on a stolen computer have led police to the stolen item.

Susquehanna Township Police say they were contacted Sunday by a man whose laptop was stolen from his car during the Penn State football game in State College on Saturday. He told police that a tracking app placed the laptop on the 500 block of Alden Street.

Police found 24-year-old John Lanphier, at the address. Lanphier admitted to having the computer in his home. When police entered the home, they also found drug paraphernalia.

Lanphier was arrested and charged with theft by receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Lanphier has been released on $2500 unsecured bail.
