Temple University offers undergraduate classes in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Strawberry Square will see fresh faces next year. Temple University will begin offering undergraduate first year classes starting in the fall semester 2013.

Temple University's program will offer 31 credits in general education classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday. Students who are accepted into the program will automatically be able to complete their bachelor degree through the university's main campus in Philadelphia.

Interim Provost Dr. Hai-Lung Dai said the move is a new adventure and will broaden education services for central Pennsylvania students and families who seek quality at a lower cost.

Temple University said there is no set number of students they will accept into the program. He said the opportunity is open to anyone and university officials will 'gauge interest' and could possibly expand the program in the future.

Currently, Temple University has nine campus locations including Harrisburg, Italy, and Japan.
